Debuting a new look – and plenty of new features – at the New York International Auto Show this past March, Kia’s best-selling midsize sedan is expected to hit showrooms across the country later this year. And at Fred Anderson Kia of Raleigh, North Carolina, we couldn’t be more excited.

What’s New in the 2019 Kia Optima?

Redesigned From the Inside Out

Adding more style to the already distinctive Optima, the 2019 midsize sedan features new design cues inside and out. Taking some inspiration from the sporty Stinger, the LX comes standard with LED daytime running lights, a re-envisioned 16-inch alloy wheel design, and a matte gray-finish grille for an overall aggressive look.

Inside, the new Optima is available with European-inspired red and black two-tone sport leather-trimmed seats and ambient LED lighting for an unforgettably unique in-cabin experience.

Get Assistance During the Drive

Now offered as standard equipment, the 2019 Kia Optima lineup features advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to help keep you safe on every commute to work, weekend errand run, and cross-country road trip.

For instance, if the Forward Collision Warning System (FCW) detects a potential front collision, it will alert you with audible and visual warnings. In some circumstances, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) may apply the brakes to reduce your speed, helping lessen the impact of a collision or avoid it entirely. It’s like having your own co-pilot on every drive.

For Your Entertainment

Kia’s UVO telematics and infotainment system has been around for years, but the 2019 Optima is taking a different approach with an easier-to-understand tiered system. Standard on the LX, UVO play offers Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ capability, so you can tether your compatible device to Optima’s audio system and use voice recognition for navigation, to make calls and to listen to music – all while staying focused on the road ahead.

On top of these features, UVO link, standard on S and EX models, adds on-demand diagnostics, maintenance alerts, and speed alerts. You can even remote start the Optima using your smart device.
