The Optima Plug-in Hybrid features a standard 2.0L Gasoline-Direct Injection engine that’s capable of providing drivers up to an impressive 202 horsepower. As an added bonus, this engine is as fuel-efficient as it is powerful, with the capability of providing drivers with up to 40 mpg. The car’s high-density lithium polymer battery carries a full EV range of up to 28 miles, ensuring that you can stay eco-friendly on short commutes.
The battery can be fully recharged in about 3 hours when plugged into a 240-volt source, or about 9 hours when plugged when into a 120-volt source. As an added measure of efficiency, the Optima features regenerative braking technology to return power to the battery when you brake.
